Locum Consultant – Psychiatry (Adults with Intellectual Disabilities)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Locum Consultant in Psychiatry (Adults with Intellectual Disabilities) to join a dedicated team in Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled psychiatrist to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care for adults with intellectual disabilities.

As a locum consultant, you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs. You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that care is tailored to the needs of each individual.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert psychiatric assessment and diagnosis for adults with intellectual disabilities.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including pharmacological and psychosocial interventions.
• Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
• Provide leadership, support, and supervision to junior medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in clinical audits, research, and teaching activities.
• Collaborate with families and carers to ensure holistic care for patients.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• GMC registration with a license to practice.
• Specialist Registration in Psychiatry (or eligible to apply).
• Significant experience in Psychiatry, particularly with adults with intellectual disabilities.
