Psychologist – Reading

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychologist to join a specialist inpatient service, providing care for adults and older males with severe mental health conditions and neurocognitive issues, including dementia and memory-related illnesses. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) delivering rehabilitation and recovery programs, as well as tailored care packages for individuals with agitated or aggressive behaviours.

As the Psychologist, you will work closely with the hospital leadership team to ensure excellent patient outcomes and contribute to service development. Your leadership and expertise will play a key role in shaping patient experiences and outcomes, fostering a compassionate and supportive care culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions to patients with a range of mental health and neurocognitive conditions.
• Work collaboratively with the MDT, ensuring integrated care planning and delivering psychological interventions.
• Contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives within the hospital.
• Supervise and support junior staff, helping to develop their clinical skills.
• Provide leadership and guidance on psychological issues, supporting the hospital director and senior medical team.
• Contribute to service development and the improvement of patient care.

Essential Criteria:

• HCPC registered Psychologist.
• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology.
