Consultant Anesthetist – East London

As a Consultant Anesthetist, you will be responsible for providing expert anesthesia services, ensuring optimal patient outcomes across a variety of surgical and medical procedures. You will also contribute to critical care, pain management, and emergency response, collaborating closely with surgeons, physicians, and nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Conduct preoperative patient assessments and develop tailored anesthetic plans
✔ Deliver safe and effective anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic, and obstetric procedures
✔ Monitor patients throughout surgery, adjusting anesthesia as required
✔ Provide postoperative pain relief and intensive care support where needed
✔ Participate in emergency and trauma resuscitation
✔ Contribute to training, mentoring, and supervision of junior doctors and trainees
✔ Engage in research, quality improvement, and policy development initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Full GMC registration with CCT (or equivalent) in Anesthesia
• Extensive experience in general and regional anesthesia
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills
• Commitment to patient safety, innovation, and best clinical practices

Desirable:

• Fellowship in a subspecialty (e.g., critical care, pain management, obstetric anesthesia)
• Research and teaching experience
