Consultant Psychiatrist Female Acute Ward

We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join a team in Carlisle, working within a female acute ward setting. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for overseeing the psychiatric care of patients within the acute ward, developing individualized treatment plans, and working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients. You will have the opportunity to shape clinical services, support staff development, and drive the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead psychiatric assessments and diagnosis for women on the acute ward
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring comprehensive care for each patient
• Provide expert clinical guidance to junior doctors, nursing staff, and other team members
• Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to ensure integrated care
• Offer psychiatric support for mental health and crisis management, including medication management

Key Requirements:

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a valid license to practice
• Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
