This position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Psychiatry Consultant seeking flexible, well-governed medico-legal work. You will complete comprehensive psychiatric assessments for individuals involved in small-claim cases, providing independent, objective, and clinically robust evaluations that support legal and insurance decision-making.

Working within a hybrid framework, you will deliver assessments both remotely and at selected clinics across London. Sessions typically last between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours, offering a predictable workflow and the autonomy to manage your own schedule. This consultancy role is well suited to Consultants wishing to diversify their clinical portfolio, complement existing NHS or private commitments, or engage in structured medico-legal practice supported by a nationwide clinical operations team. Full administrative support, reporting templates, and clinical governance pathways are provided, ensuring high-quality, consistent medico-legal outputs.

In addition to flexibility and independent practice, the role offers:

  • £250 per completed assessment

  • Hybrid working options, including remote assessments and onsite clinics

  • Autonomy to manage your own clinical schedule

  • Consistent referral volumes and predictable assessment formats

  • Full administrative assistance, including templates and case coordination

  • Comprehensive clinical governance and quality-assurance support
These benefits make the position ideal for Consultants wishing to diversify their portfolio, complement NHS or private commitments, and engage in structured medico-legal work within a supported, professional environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • GMC Specialist Register (essential)

  • Demonstrable experience in psychiatric assessment

  • Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and report-writing skills

  • Ability to manage caseloads efficiently and autonomously
