Head Psychologist

We are looking for a Head of Psychology to join our client, a service in York providing specialist mental health care for both male and female patients with complex needs. With a strong focus on recovery, dignity, and wellbeing, the team is committed to empowering patients and supporting them on their treatment journey.

As Head of Psychology, you will take a leading role in the therapeutic pathway of patients, working alongside qualified staff to guide assessments and oversee the implementation of personalised care plans. You will be central in developing and delivering formulation-led interventions, ensuring psychological approaches underpin treatment pathways. In addition, you will be responsible for providing and overseeing supervision across the psychology team, as well as leading reflective practice groups to support staff development and enhance patient care.

• Offering up to £88,250.00 p/a DOE

• Full time

• Mixed patient group (male and female)

• Leadership role

• Formulation-led care planning and delivery

• Supervision of psychology staff and facilitation of reflective practice groups

Requirements:

• Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent) with HCPC registration

• Significant post-qualification experience in mental health services

• Proven leadership and supervisory experience within a psychology team

• Strong background in developing and delivering formulation-led interventions
