Locum GP

Are you a GP looking for a rewarding role that fits alongside your existing commitments?

We are seeking a Sessional General Practitioner to provide two weekly sessions within a secure healthcare service in Buxton. You will care for a diverse patient population whose needs may include long-term conditions, mental health concerns and substance misuse.

Key info:

• One working day comprising two clinical sessions
• £125,000 per annum FTE
• Regular, predictable weekly work

About the role:

• Conducting face to face primary care consultations
• Assessing and treating acute presentations
• Monitoring patients with chronic and complex conditions
• Prescribing and reviewing medication appropriately
• Supporting patients affected by substance misuse
• Identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns
• Promoting healthier choices and preventative care
• Contributing clinical expertise to multidisciplinary discussions
• Producing clear, accurate and timely patient records

Requirements:

• Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills
• Confidence working with patients who have a history of substance misuse
• Certificate in Substance Misuse Parts 1 and 2, or a willingness to complete these qualifications
